Bishop Nigel gave the address at the annual Remembrance Sunday Service aboard HM Frigate Unicorn in Dundee harbour. Read his address here
Launched in 1824, Unicorn is the last intact and best preserved historic wooden battleship from the age of sail - she was heavily armed and fast. However, built just after the Napoleonic War she was never rigged. In Dundee from 1873 she acted a training and naval headquarters vessel. Unicorn is a significant maritime attraction in Dundee along with RRS Discovery, Scott and Shackleton’s famous 1901 Antarctic Expedition ship which is docked nearby.
